2020 summer camp update

Dear Parents, Campers, Pastors, and Church Leaders,

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, uncertainty regarding health guidelines for Ohio residential camps, and in order to keep campers and families safe, it is with sad hearts that we have decided to cancel all youth summer programs for 2020. We waited as long as we possibly could, and we wish we could announce happier news to you today.

In place of youth camp, we have high hopes that we will be able to offer several weeks of Family Camp this summer. If you are registered or interested, we will be making another announcement next week regarding its status. Please continue to check your email, our website, and social media to see our summer plan.

Cancelling summer camp also comes with an incredible financial need. With the loss of income from spring, summer, and potentially our late summer and fall groups, we are expecting a huge shortfall this year.

If you have made a payment towards a summer camper, would you consider:

Donating the entirety of your summer camp payment.
Donating your deposit and receiving a refund for the remainder.
We understand that you too may have fallen on hard times, and we will gladly refund your full payment

Thank you all for your prayers and support through these difficult times, and even more difficult decisions. We hope that we see you here at the Ranch for an incredible summer in 2021.

Skyview Ranch will not be hosting any school groups through the month May.

SVR Creation Camp (CANCELLED)
As stated in our previous COVID-19 response update, Creation Camp for 2020 has been cancelled. Please consider scheduling your 4th-6th class to attend next year!

SVR Men's Retreat (CANCELLED)
We regret to inform you that along with Creation Camp, our postponed Men's Retreat has been cancelled. Skyview is still welcoming day-only volunteers to come serve on property from Thursday, May 7th-Saturday, May 9th free of charge.

- Housing is available (but with social distancing)
- NO meals will be provided at all – you will be on your own
- Please bring your own tools to use
- There will be NO formal activities, meals, worship, etc. provided
- We are very limited to small groups
- YOU MUST STILL register as a volunteer so we have an idea of who is coming, housing needed, and which work projects you can take on
- If you would rather volunteer on another day or weekend, please let us know!

SVR Golf Marathon (May 11th)
We are moving forward with our Annual Golf Marathon to be held Monday, May 11th, with some special parameters in place:

- Golf Marathon Participants and Business Sponsor representatives are to meet at Skyview Ranch at 8:00AM for the day's instructions and a word from our Director Gary Adams
- There will be doughnuts and juice provided for breakfast
- Head separately to Fire Ridge Golf Course in town at 8:30
- No gathering allowed in the clubhouse.
- Each person has to drive a their own cart, no dual riders allowed
- There will be boxed lunches provided by Subway around 12:30PM
- A short awards ceremony will be held at Skyview Ranch to recognize our biggest fundraiser and course competition winners
- There will be NO door prizes this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak as we were NOT allowed to go out in the community to get support

SVR Disc Golf Tournament Fundraiser (May 17th)
We are moving forward with our Spring Disc Golf Tournament Fundraiser to be held on Sunday, May 17th. Please arrive in time for our player's meeting which will begin at 2:00PM.

SVR Memorial Work Weekend (May 22nd-24th) PENDING
We anticipate this free volunteer opportunity to remain as scheduled pending state mandate restrictions later in May. Please keep checking for updates as we draw nearer to the event! Let us know if you plan on coming at this time in case we move forward with our Memorial Work Weekend.

SVR Summer Camp Open House (May 24th) PENDING
We anticipate this free opportunity for those who are interested in learning more about our Summer Camp program to remain as scheduled pending state mandate restrictions later in May. Please keep checking for updates as we draw nearer to the event! Let us know if you plan on coming at this time in case we move forward with our Open House.

SVR Summer Camp (June 8-August 1)
We are moving forward with Summer Camp full steam ahead! SVR is still hiring summer staff and looking forward to a great Summer Camp season. We are continuing to prepare for eight weeks of incredible life impact with programs for all ages of youth including a Family Camp opportunity which will be held Monday, June 29-Saturday, July 4.
